what has happened to the price of yamaha av recievers? i have noticed many stores have dropped the price to around 1.5k for rxv-2065, it hasn’t been a gradual drop.
not that i’m complaining, it just brings my plans forward to purchase one.

Hi Stephen,
This is a little unprecedented. The model will be superseded later in the year, but that is still some months away. This appears to be a combination of Yamaha being unusually aggressive on pricing very early, and the pressure mounted by some of the on-line dealers, who have also been particularly cut-throat.
I have dealt with Yamaha for 40 years now, and I cannot recall pricing as severe as this in the past. Great for the consumer, there are some genuine bargains to be had here.
